Blindur began as a sonic diary. At the end of each day Hendrix would capture moments through song. Conversations, observations and weather were all relevant inspirations. Because he could not speak Icelandic his foreign eyes and ears were often blind and deaf to the facts he witnessed. However, he read the emotions clearly and transferred them through his electronic kit he had brought with him.

The result is a soundtrack without a film. The eight tracks are instrumental selections from among 30 composed by the American artist while in Reykjavik.

Reception of the new record online has been positive with reviewers calling it, "glitching, melodic and uncompromisingly interesting electroacoustic songs" that are “the perfect escape from a reality that feels complex and overly chaotic”.

"Being in Reykjavik and the surrounding area affected me deeply. It unlocked an artistic direction I had not pursued as deliberately before", said Hendrix. "It wasn't just the landscape. It was the people I met, the warmth of the community, and the awe the environment of Iceland instills in everyone. Each vignette captures the feeling of place-haunted memories, textures, tones, and timbres. They are harmonics created from overlapping emotions".

Picking up where he began with his 2020 drone composition, Plum Ambient, he decided in Reykjavik to write differently. A thought from his notebook during the first week in Iceland:

No Melody:
Atmosphere… weather, temperature
Terrain… land, speed
Sub-terrain… density, depth

These notes largely became his compositional strategy. Rather than following a linear pop structure, he worked strictly in terms of layers. Narrative became inconsequential, though pacing still remained an interest.
