about

"intertwines trip-hop rhythmic dexterity with grimily hypnotic instrumentation" Obscure Sound

"another stunning body of work… mellow beat blends with slightly chaotic synths and serene vocals" Music for All

"taking strong cues from the likes of Portishead and Massive Attack throughout, 'Drugs' makes for a brilliantly powerful listen, brimming with captivating textures from start to finish." Flex

"with elements of psych, shoegaze, and indie rock interwoven, the song weaves a tapestry that is both thought provoking and sonically rich." EL News

"isn't merely a song; it's a symphonic mirror held up to contemporary society" We Write About Music

Drugs begins with a skittering breakbeat and the toll of a single note. Is that an alarm? The war on drugs points fingers across borders and oceans. A PR machine connects dots to gangsters and deviants. But scratch the surface and find certified mechanisms in the interior producing pills on double time then jacking up the prices. The Authority's response is to pressure the people who need the drugs, not the makers. The pushers get a few slaps. Sacklers and Shkreli get the headlines. But your parents, grandma and neighbor are the ones really paying for it. After years of contributions to the public kitty. Out of pocket. Treated like dopes when they go for their medicines. Pushed to financial edges while cluttering the kitchen table with resin-colored columns of confetti.

And now our second act. Wet Work. Set the stage. Eastern Europe. Indonesia. Mexico. Holidays…. Balconies are their murder weapons of choice. Second to thin ice and claw hammers. Occasionally a high tech poison. Sleight of hand to look like dumb luck or despair. Never mind the pattern. These are the greatest hits, pleasing the Shadows again and again. After years of doing their bidding—silencing double-crossers and dissenters—how does one retire from this nasty business? And do you finally confess to your lover?

There is no honor among thieves.
